Credit Transfer allows you to transfer units or qualifications you have already completed from one registered training organisation (RTO) to another. If you have previously studied a unit as part of another qualification or with a different provider, Credit Transfer means you do not need to repeat that unit again saving you time and effort.
To successfully apply for Credit Transfer, the course codes must match.
Example: If you have completed a Workplace Health and Safety unit with the code HLTWHS001 in one course, and you’re enrolling in a new course that also offers the same unit with the same code HLTWHS001, you can credit transfer that unit and you will not have to repeat it.
How Does Credit Transfer Work?
- Submit your previous study records: To apply for Credit Transfer, you’ll need to provide evidence of your prior study, such as your transcript or qualification certificate.
- We assess your previous learning: We’ll compare the units or qualifications you’ve completed to the ones in the course you’re applying for to see if there’s an exact match.
- Transfer your credits: If your previous units match, we’ll transfer the credits to your current course, meaning you do not need to redo that work.
Why Should You Consider Credit Transfer?
Here’s why Credit Transfer is beneficial:
- Save time: Do not waste time repeating the same study—Credit Transfer allows you to move forward faster.
- Save money: By transferring your credits, you can reduce the cost of your course by only paying for the units you need to complete.
- Keep your progress: Credit Transfer recognises the work you have already completed, allowing you to build on it rather than start from scratch.
